summer days

August 2032 - Orlando Centowski is 38, Steffi Centowski is 37, Phoebe is 12, Nate and Theo are 10, Sheila Lillard is 22.

Summer at the Centowski house is always a busy time of year with all three kids off from school. This summer is even more hectic because the Centowski's just adopted a new puppy named Leroy.

The boys have been spending a lot of time selling lemonade from Phoebe's old lemonade stand. But they don't get very many customers, and Theo ends up spending a lot of time hunting for bugs in the yard.

All of the kids are really active and like spending a lot of time playing in the yard.

Since Orlando works as a robotics engineer, he likes bringing home robots to help out around the house. Most of the time they're a big help, but sometimes they malfunction. Like the hydrobot, which started spewing water all over the yard one afternoon.

Luckily Orlando fixes it quickly. It's a good robot, it's just old and in need of maintenance.

Orlando has been the owner of iRobot for two years now. He likes owning the business, although he wishes he could spend more time crafting robots. He spends most of his time in the front of the store dealing with customers.

Phoebe has been helping out at the store during the summer, mostly restocking the shelves.

She also works the cash register sometimes, although she's not very fast.

Orlando hires a new engineer, Sheila Lillard. She just graduated from Lowell College with a degree in math, and she did her senior thesis on robotics.

All of his hard work pays off; one day a reviewer comes into the store. "Everything looks great," she tells him. "Your robots are amazing, and your staff is so helpful and well-informed."

Orlando is so proud, he immediately frames the review and hangs it up in the store.

  1. I'm so glad that the review went great, about time he got a review after two years of running the business.

Funny on the bot spewing water. I've never used a robot; it's on my to-do list now!

I hope the boys get more customers for their lemonade stand, maybe they should call their friends/family over then sell to them as they arrive.
