you've got a friend in me

August 2035 - Emma and Sophie Ottomas, Andrew Larrea, and Christopher Seiff are 22.

Emma and Sophie graduated from college in June, and they opened a toy store. They named it Dora's Toy Box after their grandmother.

Sophie makes all of the toys. She's been making toys since high school, and she's happy to be able to turn her hobby into a career.

Emma handles things at the front of the store. She has a lot of experience with customers and businesses; she's been working at The Pier as a waitress and hostess since high school.

The business is an immediate success. They can barely keep the toys on the shelves.

People come from all over to buy Sophie's handmade kites and toys. Things have been going so well that they've already been talking about hiring some help. Their youngest brother Matt is still in high school, and he'd probably be excited to make some extra money.

Emma and Sophie are living together in a two bedroom apartment just off Main Street.

Emma is in a relationship with her college boyfriend, Andrew Larrea. He's an ambitious but struggling young lawyer. Right now he rents a room in a boarding house; they're waiting to move in together until they have more money. In the meantime, they try to see each other almost every day, although it can be hard. He works hard at the law firm, and Emma is still working in the evenings at The Pier as a hostess.

Sophie broke up with her college boyfriend, Christopher Seiff, right after graduation. It's not that she didn't love him, but she just didn't feel ready to settle down with him. He's a good guy, but she feels like there has to be someone out there who will be better for her. They're still on reasonably good terms, but things are a little awkward. They moved into the same apartment building, so they run into each other almost every day.

Sophie has started looking for a new guy, but she hasn't had much luck. She isn't too impressed by this guy.

She just got a cat to keep her company. She's very sweet and affectionate.

Even though she doesn't have a boyfriend, at least she has a cat to sleep with.

  1. Aw, well cats can be good company. Although my cats like to stretch out and take up as much room on the bed as they can. ;)

Glad to see their new business is doing well!
