February 2044 - Peter Ottomas is 61, Samantha Ottomas is 60, Sheila and Tommy Ottomas are 33, Katie is 9, Sean is 6.

February is a quiet time for the Ottomases. With the holiday rush over at the robot store, Sheila finally has time to spend with her family again. She still has to work on the weekends, but with a later start time they can share a pancake breakfast before she leaves for work.

March 2043 - Andrew Carter and Kate Myers are 40, Harper Myers is 17, Avery Myers is 10.

It starts out like any other morning. Their parents are both gone before they leave for school, so Harper makes sure they have breakfast and leave for school in time. When both of your parents are doctors, you get used to taking care of yourself at an early age.

August 2042 - Peter Ottomas is 60, Samantha Ottomas is 59, Matt Ottomas is 20.

Matt is home for summer break, and things are tense in the Ottomas house. Samantha loves her youngest son, but she's secretly looking forward to his going back to college. He stays up late and comes home in the middle of the night, he borrows the car without asking, he eats all of the food in the refrigerator. He disrupts the quiet life she and Peter have made for themselves since all of their children left home.

November 2038 - Neil Cameron is 64, Viola Cameron is 47, Alison is 13, Clara Long is 20.

It starts out like any other quiet November morning. Alison is at school, Viola is at work, and Neil is doing a little yard work.

But suddenly he feels a pain in his chest. He's not ready to die, but it's his time to go.
