June 2043 - Jack Cooper is 40, Jillian Cooper is 39, Jackson is 14, Rachel is 12, Piper and Alex Smith are 9.

Jillian tries her best to console her son over his first breakup.

"I'm sorry sweetie."

"I just don't know what I did wrong. Why she doesn't like me anymore."

"You didn't do anything wrong. She just isn't right for you."

Jackson hasn't talked to Gabrielle or Christopher since that day at the park. But he's kept in touch with Gabrielle's friend Jennifer Cox. They don't get a chance to meet up, but they talk on the phone pretty regularly.

It's a quiet summer at the Cooper house. Jack is at work all day, and Jillian keeps busy tending the garden, cooking, and cleaning.

Rachel spends a lot of time in her room reading and studying.

She also practices soccer every day. She wants to be on the school team next year.

Jackson likes spending time with his little sister Piper. He helps her practice the piano.

Most of the time, though, Piper is with her best friend Alex Smith. He comes over all the time.

Jackson has been feeling lonely lately, and he starts pestering his father about getting a new dog. They get a corgi who Jackson names Winnie. She's very smart and easy to train.

Piper really likes Winnie. "You're such a good girl."

Jackson spends a lot of time with Winnie, so Piper tries to give Tucker extra attention. "Don't be sad Tucker, we love you too."
