May 2031 - Priya and Sanjay Ramaswami are 41; Anjali, Padma, and Clara Long are 12; Paul Ottomas is 13.

Padma Ramaswami definitely isn't a kid anymore. It seems like just yesterday she was a gawky little girl, but now she's definitely a teenager. She spends hours in the bathroom, practicing putting on makeup and admiring herself in the mirror.

Anjali, on the other hand, is just as nerdy as ever.

February 2031 - Andrew Carter and Kate Myers are 28; Harper Myers and Toby Wright are 5.

Kate and Andrew have been together since college, but they haven't gotten married or even engaged.

"Do you think maybe we should get married?" Andrew asks.

"Why?" Kate asks.

"We've been together for 8 years, and we have a daughter together," he points out.

"What's the point of getting married? We already live together."

November 2030 - Autumn Miller and Tucker Wright are 27, Toby Wright is 5.

Autumn is pregnant with her second child, and Toby is very excited to be a big brother.

August 2030 - Faith and Herbert Goode are 68, Elizabeth and John Lowell are 60, Orlando Centowski is 36, Tommy Ottomas is 20.

One sunny day in August a few weeks before the start of classes, Faith and Herbert meet John and Elizabeth Lowell for a tour of the renovated observatory. Faith and Herbert have been very financially successful, and they've decided to donate most of it to the Lowell College Physics and Mathematics Department.

May 2030 - Ricky Cormier is 35, Sandy Fairchild is 45, Ellie Fairchild is 6.

Ricky is surprised to get a call from Sandy one morning. They haven't talked in more than six years.

"It's been a long time," she begins. "We agreed that you wouldn't be involved in Ellie's life, but she's started to ask about you. She really wants to meet you."
