Lowell College: Fall 2036

Fall Semester 2036 - Sophomores: Anthony Cooke, Paul Ottomas, Brittany Parker; Freshmen: Clara Long, Anjali Ramaswami, Padma Ramaswami.

"So are you worried about Anjali and Clara starting at Lowell this year?" asks Paul.

"No, why would I be worried?" replies Anthony.

"Wasn't there a lot of drama between the three of you?"

"That was over a year ago. Things are fine now."

Anthony is a serious kid. He's a lot more concerned about figuring out his logic ball than any potential drama.

He and Anjali are really excited to be living in the same dorm. The past year it was hard for them to make time to see each other.

Anthony has a tough course load this year, and he spends most of his time studying or writing papers. But he and Anjali make a point of hanging out together every day, even if it's just eating dinner together.

Anjali, Padma, and Clara have a pretty light course load for their freshman year, so they spend a lot of time just hanging out in the dorm. They've basically gotten over last year's boy drama; after all, the three of them have been best friends since they were seven.

Plus the three of them are a little overwhelmed with starting college, and they need each other.

"Eww, what's the mascot doing here?" asks Padma.

"Just ignore him," says Anjali.

Clara has also been making some new friends. She's been hanging out with Paul's girlfriend Brittany Parker.

Brittany has a pet hamster named Lily, and Clara loves playing with her.

Clara also spends a lot of time on the phone with her family. She's become friends with her stepmother Elizabeth, and her little brother and sister call pretty frequently to chat.

Brittany loves meeting the new freshmen, which is a little awkward for Paul. He hasn't told Brittany that he dated Padma before he got together with her.

He hasn't thought about Padma in years, but having her in such close proximity is really distracting. She's even more beautiful than he remembered.

Of course eventually Brittany catches him flirting with Padma.

"What the hell are you doing, Paul?" Brittany yells. "How could you cheat on me?"

"Come on, Brittany, I'm sorry. I love you."

"I don't care, Paul. You're always flirting with other girls, and I'm sick of it."

"Maybe we should leave them alone," Anjali whispers to her sister.

"Shh, I want to see what happens," says Padma.

"What are you saying, Brittany?"

"I'm saying I'm done. Stay away from me."

After the fight, things are pretty tense on the floor. "I'm glad you don't hate me," Padma tells her twin. "It seems like everyone else does."

"Come on, no one hates you."

"Brittany does."

"She's upset, she'll get over it."

At least one dorm couple manages to make it through the semester.

Wow, Paul is really confused! He's family/romance, so he wants to be in a commmited relationship, but he also has quite the wandering eye. First he rolled a want to fall in love with his professor (who he has negative bolts with), and then he rolled a want to get engaged to Padma. Right after the fight with Brittany, his want panel looked like this:

At the end of the semester, he still had a want to get engaged to Padma, but I haven't decided if I'm going to let him ask her. I'll see how things go next semester.
