Caroline is using the last month of summer vacation to get the orchard and garden into pristine condition. Once school starts, she won't have nearly as much time to tend to the plants, and she wants them to keep doing well.

May 2027 - Neil Cameron is 52, Viola Cameron is 35, Clara Long is 8, Alison Cameron is 2.

It's not exactly how he thought he'd be spending his retirement. When he moved to Providence, he was a confirmed bachelor, happy to spend his days alone. But then he fell in love with Viola, and along came their daughter Alison.

my computer returns!

I just got my computer back, and it's working great and doesn't appear to have any memory loss. I'm so relieved. I was really worried that I'd have lost the Providence neighborhood and have to start all over again. So stay tuned; there will be new updates shortly.

real life interrupts

So I was planning to post an update today, but real life intervened and metaphorically kicked me in the face. Yesterday my laptop totally died, like it won't even boot up. I took it to the Apple Store, and the guy at the Genius Bar said it has a hardware problem. Hopefully this will get resolved soon, and since he doesn't think there's anything wrong with the hard drive, hopefully (but not definitely) all of my files will still be in tact. I should get my computer back in a few days, so we'll see.

Life is even more hectic at the Ottomas house during the summer, with all of the kids home from school but only Samantha home during the day. And with kids ranging in age from four to sixteen, and bedtimes ranging from 8 PM to 1 AM, most nights they don't manage to all sit down to dinner together.

She certainly didn't plan to fall in love with a married man, but she also can't regret it.

Elizabeth isn't sure that she's ready to be a grandmother. Sure, she's excited and happy about it, but it doesn't seem like it was that long ago that she gave birth to her children. But Anne is 25 years old, married, a mother, and a professor at Lowell College. Sometimes Elizabeth can hardly believe it. What happened to her little girl?
